 HAPPY  THANKSGIVING.....

Today Mom and I are heading out to my son's home.  They are having dinner there and it is always fun to be with the kids and grandkids.

I've been in the kitchen doing some fun "stuff".  Made pumpkin & apple pies plus I'll be doing two turkeys.  One with a specialty touch and the other traditional.

 Well,  The specialty touch with the turkey is:

I debone the turkey before cooking.. yup, in the raw state..... I take the meat off the bones then add stuffing.   I pull the turkey together around the dressing and lace it up.  Then I wrap the turkey in cheesecloth soaked in olive oil and roast it in one of those cooking bags.

The dressing has plums, walnuts, bread crumbs and assorted seasonings, no sage.  It is a sweet & savory dressing.  Some family members enjoy it others want the traditional.

We are home now and had a great time.  I did eat cookies and should NOT have.  My blood sugar spiked then dropped.  I will have to be careful tomorrow.... very careful.  We had a good time,  I love watching the kids interact.... and the grandkids.

What a lot of work!  You must have a sharp knife!  Good for you.  I probably couldn't bone out a chicken if I had too, let alone a turkey.

Thankyou for starting us out today on Thanksgiving!!!!!
I am chillin out this morning and watching the Macys Parade. I havent seen it in a few years. I would love someday to go to it in real life!!!!!!
I made 4 pumpkin breads and a sugar free pumpkin Pie for today. We are going out to a restaurant for a nice dinner then over to my cousins house for desert and wine!!!!!
I wanted to go to Chicago but was afraid of traveling in the car due to unforseen weather.
I want to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving.!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to my wonderful family of the heart. My wish for all of you is to have a blessed and happy day of giving thanks for all that we have in our lives. I am giving thanks for all the many blessings that I have in mine and also giving thanks for the things that I don't have in my life. I give thanks for all my family, including you all and for all of the many blessings that I have. My God is good to me.

It is rainy here today and cold to go with it. I am even grateful for that since I might have woke up on the other side of the dirt and that would be a not good thing. So another thing to be grateful for....another day given to us to be with our loved ones.

We are staying home today. Last night we went and shared dinner with Bill's cousin and his girlfriends family. They are wonderful and caring people. We had a nice time. I really enjoyed myself and I am so glad that I went and shared part of my holiday with them. If it had been left to me I wouldn't have went and it would have been my loss.

When we were leaving last night to come home I missed the last step and fell in the driveway. I was so embarrassed. I am glad that Bill and Roger was the only ones who saw me. I am far from being one who is elegant when they fall. But then again I guess there isn't many who is elegant at that. I got up and my arm and shoulder hurt but this morning I felt like normal...so that is another thing for me to grateful for.

I better get going. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers and good thoughts are being said for everyone. Have a wonderful and blessed day of thanks and know that you are loved by many.

So glad you didn't hurt yourself Brenda.  You've had enough to deal with this year!
God doesn't give you any more than you can handle so I guess he thought he had dealt you enough this year!
